On 1 June the TSB became the third bank to close its local branch in recent years. Despite Covid restrictions, Cupar Heritage was able to make arrangements to save the sign at the door, which has joined similar signs from the entrances to the Clydesdale Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland in the museum collection. The current tendency for banks to close branches is big news, it is also sad and especially so for the TSB as it occupied the premises in Crossgate of the old Cupar Savings Bank, a once proud local institution.
